Since the medical scare that left he half blind and on more drugs than I ever want to be on, I've recovered almost completely. The sight in my left eye has been gradually returning, which has been making everything I do a lot easier. The steroids opened me up to a lot of illnesses though, as they tend to beat down the immune system, so I'm finally just starting to feel GOOD. I want to thank everyone that wished me well and offered support- the event was pretty darn scary.

I'm on a bit of an art hiatus right now. I haven't had any motivation to draw, and when I pick up the clip board to do it, I can't get anything down on paper that looks decent. I haven't forgotten the people I owe, so I'll get around to it when I can.

The results of my MRI were given to me this morning. The biggest relief was to hear that my MRI was completely normal. No signs of stroke, no tumors, and no MS lesions in my brain. That leaves us with the mystery cause of the optic neuritis I developed- it just discludes the worst that it could have been. I am breathing more easily now. Even if I don't fully get the sight back in my left eye, I am ultimately grateful that it is not worse, as it certainly could have been.

Currently, I am on heavy steroid treatment twice a day, which will end on Sunday and begin a 3 week course in pill form. The steroids are meant to kill off the swelling in my optic nerve, in hopes that the sight in my left eye might recover. It could still go either way, but I failed my sight test worse than I had a couple days prior. The pain is going away, so I've been able to get up and move around, and best of all I was able to attend my graduation awards thing.

Another fortunate thing about missing one eye is that it has not made it impossible to draw. I am still drawing, and very much the same as I had been with two eyes. (My most recent picture, Leo, was done with virtually one eye. I have other projects to submit later.)

I appreciate all of the support I received, it was extremely comforting through this frightening experience, and I am thankful to everyone who left me well-wishes. I will most definitely post updates about my vision, or of any new developments of any sort. I hope to get back to business as usual here very soon. Thank you all.
